South Glen Shiel Ridge

Note : My pal and I started the walk further down the glen from the Cluanie at the sign for the Battle of Glen Shiel, at the carpark 100 meters before the bridge and therefore travelled West-East in the opposite direction from the usual route. The Walk Highlands route extends way too far down the glen to the start point for climbing Sgurr na Sginne/Saddle which makes an already tiring gig unnecessarily long. It also includes a wholly unnecessary indirect curving route round off the east-most top (nearest the dreary Cluanie Inn) which again lengthens the day for no benefit. See the map.There is a direct easy route up or down to the east-most top which cuts a good hour plus off the time.
The walk: hot, sunny, ran out of liquid and left bikes at Cluanie at the end, which we then cycled back down to the car at the bridge where we began. Fab views all round. Everyone else was going the other way round. Re-hydrated at the Cluanie with a couple pints of Stella, a pint of coke and then a flask of Scapa malt...magic. Hit Letterfinlay Lodge for a great kip.
