Climb this munro with Linda,my 2 dogs,Breagh and Kerry from the carpark just up from the lawers NTS visitor centre(now sadly closed)
We had one of those oh so rare days, crisp snow on the ground and clear blue sky and no clouds,I was the 1st car parked that day, quickly on our way down the track over the river, through the gate and onto the open hillside, not a soul in site (brill)
Once on the hill we headed across the rough moor to pick up the S ridge of Meall nan Tarmachan where you quickly climb up then down over fairly steep slopes, before we turned NW where steep but easy stepps worn into the hillside soon had us onto the ridge just north of the summit and small cairn, what a view we had all along the ridge sadly the full traverse of the ridge was not for us today as we had the 4 dogs with us and was not sure how tricky the bad step was further along the ridge.
Sat down at the top had some food then returend the way we came, the 1st person we saw was when we were passing throuh the gate before you hit the landrover track on the way back to the car, once back at the car the place was heaving with walkers all starting the climb(love getting the hill to ourselves).
