I arrived at glen falloch car park after a short drive up from alva.07.30 changed tactics a bit and had a cuppa and a energy bar why not I thought all day to come and in no rush.I had read a lot of reports on these two munros and that's what always inspires me,This group of mountains near crianlarich may not get high fives all round but they are excellent with great views as well on a clear day.I set off 08.15 approx and walked around bogfest field to the underpass.
I continued over bridge
and along track until turn of point for Sron Gharbh using gpx file on satmap from walkhighlands.I must say at this point Satmap is a cracking bit of kit, Map and Compass stay in bag enough said. I found the path further up and continued along twistin hill good track can't go wrong really just head for the castle.
I came to the defile (cleft) and it was a bit slippy but managed it ok with care
The summit cairn 378193 was reached and decided on lunch and the clag and rain decided to join me how odd(HA)
Nice views in general when it cleared, walked to another cairn ahead and set off down Bealach Buidhe got about half way down and the clag and rain rolled in again,(HA) just in time to wet the other scrambly bit to Beinn a'Chroin.
I must admit great care should be taken here worse if wet but thoughs where many have been before so it can be done.Slight backside nipping session going on at this point but reached the top and the cairn at the top (Phew).
I knew this was not the summit cairn so decided to have lunch number two guess what happened yep clag and rain.Quick scoff and onto summit cairn 388186
Helicopter rescue going on in the distance i think, Orange flare seen on side of mountain but I think helo crew
Do this for wind direction maybe just a training exercise.
I could see a third cairn in the distance it's the who knows cairn,True Cairn or Not True cairn thats the question Hamlet/Shakespeare?. The weather had cleared and it looked like a nice walk over to it to so cracked on and had a rest when I got there.
I decided to head back No Glen falloch bog for me
simply reversed the route after all it's a back down and one climb up to an caisteal and an easy twistin hill.the clag had rolled in on the way back large party of people turned up all of a sudden, they looked like they were enjoying themselves quick hi and of I went.
As usual on the way back the sun came out, got back to Sron Gharbh and a slight diagonal drop to the track met a nice guy coming down having a chat on our way back really helps to talk seems to get back faster, all in all a cracking walk and really enjoyed it stopped for lots of photos and two wet lunches but oh well you get what you get
Five munros in 11 Days Good enough for me Ben More and Stob Binnian next me thinks
