Went for a stroll along the track heading west from Balsporran on a day when the weather forecast was remarkably accurate; drizzle east of Tomintoul, early morning low cloud sitting beneath the tops and breaking and clearing north and west of the Cairngorms...
Although there was little wind to speak of we were treated to some fine displays of the low cloud rising, breaking and generally swirling about. Can't recommend the track over an ascent of the hillside but it helped us deal with the mist. Once we got half way to the high point the going became pretty easy and quite pleasant at the high point and beyond.
