Cheers jonny. Agree with Rodmeister that these are good, given the high start, close to the road and the cafe :D Currently though the main cafe is being refurbished, but they still have a small one in place in the shop next door

I quite liked those three when I did them but thought it was because I had heard so much bad stuff about them that I was expecting a nightmare of concrete and steel  Anyway, really enjoyed this mate, it'll be interesting to see if they ask to go again.......

Cheers Chris. Not sure they asked to go this time  They had no choice

Good luck with the "infecting" process
I last took my lad - then about 19 - out to climb the Merrick a couple of summers ago and was rewarded with "what's the point of going up a hill just to come back down??" -obviously he's impervious to infections of this sort

When my human bro came with mum and me up to the far north in early August, mum was sooooo proud that her 2 boys (albeit one canine and one human) were happy to climb 13 500 ft of ascent in 4 days, and look wistfully at the views, the vistas, the Swan vestas too, to cook real food on the trangia, to have pints of wine (!!!!!!), to collect drift wood and build HUGE fires on the beach ably assisted by Aussie Colin and his guitar, mouth organ and stories, stories, stories.
These times with our 'kids' are priceless, and mum reckons it's because Rory grew up in the wilds, appreciates the wilds and even though he lives in the city, still craves the wilds.
And so, October, hills around Loch Lomond with him, then hopefully he'll come to Arran too. He's good fun is Rory!

Woof woof!

Oh finally an honest report about children/teenagers up the hills...that sounds like the motivation I had around their ages   Well done to them (keeping them motivated for nearly 5h must have been hard) and hopefully you will managed to get them up a few more...
Great pictures as well!!
