Some friends had the (English) Bank Holiday off, and invited me out for a day in the hills. We decided to chase the best weather and head up to the Cairngorms. I had never been up Glen Einich  so was very happy with their suggestion to do this round. We started fom Whitewell, and made quick progress up the Land Rover track to Loch Einich. What a lovely spot! We then took the excellent stalkers path up into Coire Dhondail and from there up a long but easy grassy slope to Carn na Criche. We cut the corner across the top of the Falls of Dee to get the best of the views into the coires, and then up to the top of Braeriach.

From here we followed the normal route over Sron na Lairig, and then back out via the Lairig Ghru path and the Cairngorm Club footbridge. Quite a long walk, but all very easy going underfoot, and a really good way to do the hill.

Still to do Braeriach and seeing reports like this just make me want to get out there and do it.

Great photos and a great day by the look of it.

Hi jmarkb, so they are the views we missed the Saturday before, ta for posting, we never saw a thing on top, all done on compass bearings and GPS, great pity. You had a great day for it! :)
