A two day extravaganza in Sutherland for my mate Siborg, his dog Bria and myself beinning with the climb up Ben Hope. We had another couple of lads on the team but unfortunately they had an accident near Inverness and spent the night in hospital so never made it. They are fine by the way.
Arrived at the car park for Hope at around 0930hrs and we were underway by 0945hrs.

The rough path following the stream was very icy and because we had both invested in new microspikes any time we encountered a millimetre of frozen water we talked about the use of them!

Once we angled off the top of the stream we got a good view of the summit.

We got a brilliant day for this climb weather wise and the ascent was very straight forward all the way to the top.

Once at the summit a couple of comedy photos then down for a pint at the Crask Inn before a night on the lash in Lairg. Not too many though as Ben Klibreck was tomorrow (aye right!)

In summary a good quick climb on what was a perfect day!

Aye a bit dull for you pal. As it goes this was my first munro also, not bad to kick you off!

Did Ben Klibreck yesterday and with the volume of snow and length of trek found that a completely different kettle of fish!

Walk report tomorrow I think..

Got plans for the Assynt two later in summer if you want to join us?

The Crask Inn is the business mate, real boozer! Landlord let us have a nose around the bunkhouse for when we take the platoon back late summer for the Assynt munros. The appeal of staying there registered when he mentioned he does not call time in the bar!
Microspikes worked really well on thickly frozen paths and rocks, cannot credit them enough!

Sid I will get my photos up soon.

I think I may have caught a sighting of the legendary 6 foot hot dog, so once I can upload the photos I will post them.

I see I'm not the only one to take my top off in the hills in winter then! I'm hoping to do that and Klibreck & Ben More Assynt/Conival in summer so I'll be watching these posts and looking at the pics with interest...
