Video report

We had recently purchased some new walking boots for my daughter and she was keen to try them out, so having bagged only two Munros thus far, I was looking for a relatively easy and straight forward hike (her previous Munros were Cairnwell and Carn Aosda). The problem was that the weather was forecast good in the West and to add some more complexity the wind was forecast stronger closer to the central belt. Initially we had thought about Glas Maol but deemed it too far east and the forecast was not so good, then we thought about Lawers but again the forecast was for gusty winds - so we decided on Beinn Dorain.

I was a little apprehensive as to whether this would be a step too far but I was proved wrong and in stunning conditions she made the top in no time!     The weather was superb with crystal clear visibility and in the shelter on the summit, it felt like mid summer :D Happy Days and one to remember... Next up she wants to do The Ben in winter!!!! (might have to wait a little while me thinks!!) - however very proud of her today :)

Another great report!
Congratulations to your daughter on her 2 new Blue Balloons.
Nothing more enjoyable than the "proud daddy feeling" you get, when your little one gets the the summit.

Looks like you had a great day out.

Cheers,
Martin

What a great spell of weather, making up for the last two years that's for sure. Wonderful to see your Daughter enjoying the hills, trying to get my Grandson interested as well, when he comes up from the South that is. Clear Blue sky, Lovely! :D
