wanted to catch some autumn sun on the hills
10 30am got off the train at tyndrum
caught the 17 14 back to glasgow
up the east ridge & down other side, a fine way to climb ben lui
had the ridge going up to myself though the summit was busy with baggers lots having trooped over from beinn a'chleibh
I did this years ago in sandals, started in the sun then got caught in a snowstorm at the top, I can still remember the looks of disbelief from 2 women I passed on the way down.
this brings to mind the time a man in a suit & smooth soled leather shoes passed me on the aonach eagach, said he was coming back from a business meeting & just come up for a 'look', then said the last time he'd been on it was in winter with Hamish MacInnes so I figured he would be fine.
