Parked in the golf course car park and made our way along the side of the course and up to the trees. Here we got over the fence and followed the tree line to pick up the track to the col between the two hills. Went up Meikle Conval first where we met four lads down from Aberdeen for the day. We had a good laugh as they asked "does this hill get any higher?", i replied "no but Little Conval is over there, this is Meikle Conval". " So this isn't Ben Rinnes then?" "No Ben Rinnes is over there" I then got the map out and showed them where they were and gave them directions to the Ben Rinnes car park. They then headed back down the track they came up after a wee laugh about their little error. We had a bite to eat at the summit before making our way to the Col. Here, Kim and Claire returned down the track to the car while i continued to Little Conval. After reaching the summit i returned to the track as quick as i could not wanting Kim and Claire to be waiting too long on me. Then my phone goes, it's Claire " there's a golfer on the course and mummy won't go on it and there's cows in the field and she won't go through it" . They decided to head through the trees that would lead them to the B9009 and a short road walk back to the car. I returned to the car to be told "we're just 2 minutes before you" So all in a fun wee day and only got rain for the last 20 minutes of the walk.
