Winter is here! A snowy Ben Wyvis :-)
Posted: Mon Nov 04, 2013 9:13 pmI won't spend any time describing the route we took today as there are lots of Trip Reports for Ben Wyvis, but I wanted to share the lovely snowy conditions we experienced on this walk today.
- Nice big car park but note there is a height barrier so you can't get a motorhome in this car park
- Some nice interpretation panels
- The dying bracken had ice drops hanging on it, like christmas decorations
- Through the little wooden gate and up into the beautiful silver birch and pine wood
- Welcoming sign
- Beautiful woodland and views opening up as we began the ascent
- First views of the snowy summit ridge
- Hill food!!
- Well made path, even with stepping stones over wet sections
- Views opening up to the North West
- Yaaaaay! Above the snow line
- Entranced by the first snows of winter

Can't believe I was there only a week ago and there wasn't any snow up there at that time. And you had such calm conditions too. Can't say I did......
