Having climbed Beein Odbhar the previous day and attended the Walkhighland Meet that same night I could not wait to do another Corbett. :D :D
I had checked some previous walk reports and was told that Beinn a' Chrulaiste was one to keep for good weather (very good advice!)

Sunday came and it was as glorious as a winters day could ever be...6mph winds, not too cold and views for miles and miles.
I had not been the only one who picked out the hill across from the Buachaille and at the end we were a group of 9+1 who crowded this Corbett. :D :D :D

The day was perfectand the views were simply out of this world...I even have to admit, that I can't remember a day with better views than we had that day.
The icing was to be able to have Paul and Helen Webster in our company :D who we have this wonderful website to thank for.

The walk we took was the one from the Altnafeadt. We walked across the wee forest and climbed up the shoulder. There is another way up from the Kingshouse hotel, but we were told that the path is boggy. I had wondered if the other way would have been any shorter and asked a few other walkers, but none of the people we met that day had managed a steady paste and seemed to have taken just as long as we did (but how can you not stop and enjoy views like that?)

But the walk is not the most important part of that day- it was the views. Lets the pictures show you the reason why you should climb this Corbett and ignore the Munros at some point....I would not have thought it was possible...

Stunning stuff ML :D

Great photos, especially the zoomed shot of the Ben

It was a much quieter summit when I was there on the Friday  Just me and the Big Bookil 8)

And just to confirm what you were told, the Kings House route is very, very boggy

Thanks for posting Mountainlove, wonderful photographs, fancy. Me missing a day like that! Your right about the starting point, think I'll miss the boggy stuff from Kingshouse. Bet Sunday made up for a lot of the rubbish days you have had on the hills.
