My walking friends and I tried Ben Venue on a beautiful autumnal day but unhappily we missed the turn off to ascend to Ben Venue. We meandered on and still had an enjoyable day ending up in th Byre Inn for an enjoyable pint or three! The route is well marked until you reach just before the second bridge when as we discovered on the way back the way mark for the ascent is only a small clump of stones easily missed.
We shall return.
