Parked at car parking area beyond entrance to Ballochleam Farm. Crisp frosty morning. This part is is still in shade at 10am.
So back along the road to the farm, up the track to reach the track that goes up the glen to the spout. Through 4 gates to start climbing up the side of the glen.
Through another gate at the top and right along a worn track to small dam on burn. Crossed over and followed it up as close to Stronend as possible before it starts to meander all over the hill. A large boulder with a divot on top marks the best route to the top. Sheep tracks eased the way through heather and rough grass. The frost helped with some of the boggy bits frozen solid. Still needed care on this track. At the top, the views are extensive, Arran and Pentalnds farthest away, all the highland hills to the north.
Just retraced the same route back.
- Stronend from car park, its frosty man
- The route marking boulder and divot
- View north from trig point
