Staying in Glendale for a week, and always wanted to do the Tables. So with the forecast for the morning good, it was an early start at first light from Fasach along the old track to start with and then over very rough open ground.

Heading South along the "track" to the old Shielings along the Hamara River.

Light show over the old Shielings.

Terrain really started to get tough from this point on. Only eased on the slopes of Macleod's Table North (Healabhal Mhor) where it becomes a big grassy and very steep bank!

An unusual light show looking North across Glendale to Harris and Lewis.

Eventually reached the top, which was surprisingly boggy, but the views were absolutely stunning.

On top of Macleod's Table North (Healabhal Mhor) with the sun rising over the Cuillin Hills.

Descended almost due South and picked up one of the shelves of Beinn na h-Uamha to get to the foot of Macleod's Table South (Healabhal Bheag), before another steep ascent to the flat summit.

Approaching Macleod's Table South (Healabhal Bheag).

The Cuillin Hills across Loch Bracadale.

Then it was time to head down. Tried to take a line directly to Orbost, but there were all sorts of paths that seemed to taper out to nothing, so ended up a mix of path and cross country and eventually met the road near Orbost itself. After that it was a long run on the tarmac along Loch Dunvegan and back over the pass to Glendale.

The way down towards Orbost.

Glendale at last.

Hard Work!!
