After last weeks venture into corbett walking our resident munro bagger Kev wanted me to return to a mans walk . But what he originally wanted to do was a no go in the short daylight hours , so Ulaidh and Lighiche can wait,
With Kev being early (shock horror) we were on our way from Invercharnan at just after 8am . A good walk in along a forrestry track through large areas of deforrestation Once we got to the of the track which took about an hour we picked up the track down to the bridge!!!!! and the faint track up to Meall nan Gobhar . Once we started on the hill the path was well worn up MnG to the beallach . Much to Jakes delight we hit the snow line and to my dismay that we had to clamber half way up the 841 point to cut around to the approach to Beinn F to the fence line
Then for once Mwis was correct clag down wind picked up drizzle nae views . So it was a dreary slog up to the trig thru the murk got to the trig at 11.20hrs no point in hanging about no views cold and dreich ( how I love winter in the highlands) aboot birrell then head down the same route we just came up via a couple of off piste diversions as taught to us by the pigeon once we got down below the clag and out of the wind a bite to eat and gunfire to warm the cockles . Another river crossing no way were we crossing the bridge , it might have been different if the stream was in spate , Got back to the cars at 1425hrs for a bottle of buds finest a good day out and a drive home in daylight.
