A quick outing after finishing up at 12 o'clock today for the Christmas holidays. With my record on the Angus Sub2Ks, this was a potential tricky foray into hostile territory. Remember the wooded nightmare that was Crock? Or the difficulty in getting down off Hare Cairn? Or the pick of the bunch - the run-in with the abusive farmer on Turin Hill? Well, this one turned out be be devoid of any difficulties or controversies whatsoever. A very straightforward outing from the north following in the footsteps of JC and Rod.

Only other thing I'd say is that when you come to the first gate by the corner of the forestry just a minute or so into the walk, don't do what I did and stick close to the edge of the forestry. That will lead you into some rather long and tussocky stuff before spitting you out on the track to Gairlaw. Better to stick to the middle of the field (following the grassy track over the high point in the field) to pick up the track leading up to Hilton, from where a double gate leads onto the track to Gairlaw.

Congratulations Graeme, a boring finish to an interesting spell in the Angus hills. This is the only one I have left, would be good to get it done over Xmas/New Year as well.

Great stuff there Graeme! And well done getting your last Angus Sub 2000er. The entrance to the hill at the gate was awash with snow melt when we did it as well! All the best for 2014 :D
