Walkhighlands

Waiting for the sunrise on Mither Tap. Lots of apparent repetition in the video but I am interested in how small changes in the light can have a big effect on the view.



Still nervous of slipping because of a back problem, I went very slowly around the occasional icy patch on the way up. In fact, if truth be told, I considered turning back as soon as I encountered the first little bit of ice but it turned out that there wasn't that much and what there was was in the middle part of the walk which is quite flat and so allowed me to maintain an upright posture.
No-one else around when I started but one runner appeared shortly after I got to the top. They stayed only for a few seconds so it was pleasant to get the summit to myself for a while. It was pretty cold on the top though so I sheltered just below to wait for sunrise proper.

On the way down I encountered a growing stream of folk on their way up, some in shorts. No wonder, with the very fine weather. Must have been at least thirty cars at the bottom when I got back down. Not all the occupants going up to Mither Tap, of course, but still a little bit of a surprise to see it quite so busy.
