Happy New Year!!

Today was the day of our annual "Kirkybagger" New Years walk, but we decided to change location this time around. Instead of Tyrebagger Hill and Kirkhill Forest in Aberdeen, we set off for Glen Tanar and decided to walk a combination of the Pinewoods Circuit and the Haunted Stag route. I dont have time today to be writing another report about Glen Tanar, so I am just going to post a few photos of our wonderful day out. We set off on our walk at 0920 and arrived back at the carpark around 1315.

Enjoy.

On our way to Glen Tanar, on the B9125 Banchory road, we stopped at a layby to catch the sunrise.

Climbing up towards the Haunted Stag we passed an "enchanted forest".

This stream always has a blue tinge to it. Wonder if it has something to do with the man-made lochan next to it?

I'll be suprised if this tree lasts the year. Most of its stump has rotted away. Photograph this tree everytime I do the Haunted Stag

Deeside was looking splendid in its Autumn colours this far into winter.
