Just three weeks after I cut short a walk to the base of Lochnagar due to deep snow I was out with my club (now a fully paid up member of the Granite City Hillwalkers) for a trip up Conachcraig using the same approach I gave up on earlier. Weather was also a lot better, giving good views of Lochnagar. Conachcraig isn’t much to shout about but its worth it for the views it gives all around and it has some interesting tors (not sure if the more Scottish “craig” covers this type of feature) on its summits. Only my third Corbett but by far the easiest. What I found more interesting was that we covered twice the distance I did 3 weeks earlier for just an additional 45 minutes.

I've been a few times to Lochnagar but never that way. My loss as it looks the best approach
