Smashing ,,did this route in May 2012,,still loads of snow but way easier crossing the arete when you can actually see some rock lol

Many thanks all for the kind comments. That is a most excellent pic GillC! Looking at the pic and thinking I was somewhere in all that snow makes me feel a bit insignificant. I can definitely say that I would've felt a bit better feeling more rock under my boots than snow while I was crossing the ridge. I'd say about 90% of the time, while I was probing for some "spinal girth" from the ridge, all I felt was snow.

A couple of questions have come up about the shirt. The shirt I have pictured with me at the top is for some fallen aviators from my squadron. The crew was on board an MC-130H Combat Talon II when it crashed in the Drizez Mountains during a night training mission in Albania on 31 March 2005. These brave men are no longer with us, but they will always be watching over us from the skies that they so loved. R.I.P Wrath II...

Hey great video. We also did the CMD arete on Sun 16th Feb but as it looks like there's no footprints on the ridge, you must have been the first across? You get a little close to/on top of those cornices...! Sadly our camera battery wasn't charged :( Amazing route in good conditions, I like it being plastered in snow rather than half-snow half-rock.

Hey brother. I was looking at my pics and I noticed in one of them 3 people starting the ridge as I was done and heading up to the summit. That must've been y'all. I am pretty sure I was the first one across the ridge that day because like you said there were no footprints to be seen. That has got to be hands down one of the best days I've had out. I was grinning from ear to ear like a monkey with a banana. Hope you are doing well bro. See ya around.
