My 14-year-old granddaughter and I were staying at the excellent independent hostel in Glen Prosen and tackled these hills from this side, rather than the usual route from Glen Clova. It was a long pull and frankly not the most interesting one, however, from this side we had the mountains pretty much to ourselves and the red grouse. We did encounter some other walkers in the mist as we traversed from Driesh 947m (3108') to Mayar 928m (3043') as well as some ptarmigan. Returning to Glen Prosen we dropped out of the mist to massive views down the glen. A long day for determined little legs, my granddaughter worked very hard for her first Munros. :) :)
