Not to many reports on this hill done singulary. So I dont know if this was the easy way hard way or Bayne,s way which will be harder than any of the other two. No walking over weekend due to weather so first day of week off,. break in the weather hills here I come noticed this one a couple of weeks ago when we did Chaorach a piece of cake!!!.
Mwis looked gooda wee bit windy higher up but nothing special. Followed the track as per the route up to Beinn Chaorach at the end of the track there is a atv track follow this to the end where you come up to a new electric fence (sadists these highlanders ) . I then picked out a route which would take me up to the bealach at the 638m then from then a straight walk up to Cam Chreag no problem or so I thought .
With the newly fallen snow the winds weve been having I must have walked straight into every drift up to 3feet in places so there was a lot of retracing and finding other routes normal walking the snow was at least 6in got to the 638 point there is an old generator there for the old fence which runs over Beinn Chaorach . So I followed the fence postsuntill I got to the ridge then made my way up to the top by now the wind had picked up which made the walking even more difficult and jake wasnt to happy either more drifts deep snow and patches of ice with just a thin covering of snow which made it interesting at times got to the top just before noon nearly 4hrs of hard slogging a strong wind picked up with blinding spin drift we made our way down.
The route back was basic enough picked a route down Coreheynan to Allt Gleanna Chlachain and followed the stream down to the small hydro dam then back up to the main track but then again I should have made my way back up to the inward atv track and made my way back along the same route see what I mean about Bayne,s way got back to the car just before 3pm what a slog I think the dog was more relieved than what I was.

Some nice views there, Ian. It was a fine day, but walking is hard through wind and deep snow.

The snow's OK when you don't sink in it and it doesn't white you out.
