Brilliant pictures to compliment the fine words Dave.

As you may know I am heading here in 3 weeks with some friends we are going to do the classic route clockwise did you get a chance to see any of the river crossings by any chance.

Thank you Gammy. No sorry didnt get anywhere near the river crossings from the far end, water levels in the river along my walk in from Incheril seemed normal enough, but would certainly have been wet feet jobs, but then it is a river :)

Lovely 8) . Bit too much retracing/going back over hills for my liking by this route, but you can't really have a bad walk in Fisherfield :D . I'm pretty lazy - did all of these hills in pairs from different directions. I keep thinking about going back and doing all 6 of the big summits in a oner from Shenavall, but there's too much to see on the other sides, so I'll probably never get around to it.

The advice in the final paragraph is spot on. The first time I visited these peaks I saw nothing. The second time (last year) I took a very similar route to you. The views and atmosphere especially from the western two are just simply stunning. But it is a long and largely trackless walk back from A'Mhaighdean to the far end of Lochan Fhada!
