This was day one of our three day Easter holiday.
We decided to get off early for this one just incase parking would be an issue. The forecast for the day was rain at first then slowly cheering up thoughout the day. We found the large cairn indicating the start of the walk, only just, through the clag, which was thick enough to drill a hole through. We parked up, got our gear on and off we went. :)

Off we go

The start of this walk is easy enough on a good track just below the layby, but this soon becomes less obvious and very wet. We located the fence posts and started on the very boggy ground steadily upwards, there are traces of a path here but as you gain height it starts to dry out and the fence posts become more frequent and you simply follow these upto the summit,we lost the posts on occasion because of the clag and large patches of snow but steadily went uphill and got to the cairn on Meall Corranaich about two hrs later.

After a bit of a trudge we arrived at our first summit.

The cloud was thick so map and compass came out, took the summit piccy and left the cairn on a good path towards the next Munro on a general bearing towards the north top which we found in the clag with no problem. As we were coming off this we started over a large expanse of snow and lost our bearings and the path :( , this was a bit tricky but the map and the G.P.S told us we were ok :) and eventually found the bealach and by now the clouds were a lot thinner so we sat down and had lunch, we could see the way forward so I was a lot happier. :D

When the clouds parted we could see the way we'd come and the way forward

After lunch we set off on the very good path towards Meall a' Choire Leith and about 20 mins later we were at the cairn,on the way we saw two tarmigan, they were losing their winter plumage and were well camoflaged against the heather.

Summit NO:2

After a quick photo, not much to see so no more than the odd piccy,we set off on a bearing of 220 degs towards the intake marked on the map, on this bearing we came across a good path that takes you all the way to the intake, cross the burn here and follow the same bearing back over a slight rise, you encounter more very wet ground here but eventually the outward track is found and then an easy stroll back to the road. :)
This was a good day out even in thick mist, it was a pity we did'nt get any views but these two are good fun and well recommended. :D
On the way down the road we saw the dam, amazing,we did'nt see this on the way up.
