mountain coward wrote:Yeah really funny report! :D But I'd have thought they were from Yorkshire if they'd said 'minging' - must be a widespread term then... I think Bog Myrtle smells beautiful - not so sure about whisky though - LOL to the 'better ways of smelling like a distillery' comment  Also laughing at the false lashes description of how not to look like a 'birder'

...It was the way she said it mountain coward, like it really was MINGIN' (definitely Lanarkshire  ).

Yup, bog myrtle is one of my favourite smells too :D

I thought that too MC, and fancy visiting Jura too next time, although I do think they are a bit of a trek from sea level.

Yup, defintely a WH meet up in the making

I think if I gave them to someone for Christmas they would fall out with me soon after :? . My flat really does smell like a distillery with them at the moment, feeling a bit drunk on the aroma...had a driving lesson the evening after I got back and in the first few minutes, managed to stall the car three times at traffic lights, over the limit sort of feeling  :? (never stall it usually).

Red Peak wrote:I remember hiring bikes for a few hours on Islay when visiting there back in '92 and was amazed that we were told to just leave the bikes outside the shop when we'd finished with them (the shop being shut by that time). I can't imagine that happening in any mainland town! The bikes would have been nicked, stripped down and resprayed within hours ... :D

Must be nice to live in a place where 'theft' is just something you hear about on the news when it happens in other places ... :(

The crofter's wife told me not to bother with the bike lock but I thought I'd better chain it to the fence to stop it blowing away during the stormy Sunday night...woke up on the Monday morning and the rain and wind was gone, still can't believe I got three days of Spring-like weather in :) :)
