Ella, more Gammy than Cesear

Having seen the weather forecast and missed a trip to Ullapool the need for some hill time was high. Needed a fairly short day and Ella my youngest daughter wanted to come too. A veteran of 2 minors 2 corbbets and a couple of sub 2000.

Decided we would head for Glencoe for either Stob Dearg as a single , the Corbbet across the road or Buachaille Etive Beag.

Glasgow a bit overcast as we left at a very sociable 8.45 . The further north we went patches of blue appeared and by the time we were at Orchy there was no cloud. Looking into the coire of BEM I could see there was a huge cornice around the rim, so no chance without winter kit and with a small child. No parking spaces so the Corbbet was out too. On to BEB, but again car park was full, managed to get parked two lay yes along, not far to walk back but up the very busy narrow road.

The good path with stairs saw Ella yomping up causing me to huff and puff, but we were at the bealach in an hour. A lot of snow still lying on the ridge Stob Dubh and a couple of peeps coming of it with axes. So we settled on just the one as it had no snow. Had a snack and took in the views all around. bidean, the AE, BEM, the Etive hills and many more.
Then a quick 30 mins and the summit was reached. Again the stunning views but even better. Back down to the bealach for lunch and then back down to the road. A great day on one of my favorite hills with my wee mountain goat.
