Parking in the Forest gateway at Larghill Bridge followed the forest road up to the junction taking the left fork to the end across some recently replanred forest to get to Martyr's Monument on Bad Knowe. The grave is then visible to the east and crossed over the rough ground to it. From there continue across rough ground to forest road. At the end picked my way through standing tress cleared areas and wind blown forest till arrived at the boundary wall below Craigelwhan. Kept going north around Craigelwhan and crossed the new track and kept south of Lochkit Bennan till met the stone wall. followed stone wall to corner with forest then along stone wall to top of Brennan. Returned straight down the front making for the track and gate that is obvious below. followed track to road thenroad to car.
There is no evidence of any paths on these hills at all ground is very wet and there is a lot of either tussocky grass or deep heather to negotiate.
