Two thirds of a Bounds round

The rough bounds of Knoydart.Had been close to Knoydart before when i done the Glendessary Munro's but never seen that much that day so was looking forward to this weekends trip into the heart of the area.After a frustrating drive up on Friday afternoon the wee windy road eventually spat me out at the Kinlochhourn tea room and car park,paid the wee manny his 4 quid and was of along the track to Barisdale.It's a braw walk along the shoreline with a fair few up n downs but was at the camping area at about 9 30 pm,tent up and straight to sleep.

So after a good nights kip i was up early,a bright morning outside the tent,the big plan was to get a good early start and complete the 3 Munro round of Luinne Bhienne,Meall Bhuide and Ladhar Bhienn,but Knoydart had other ideas and so did my legs

Nearly to the top of the pass,then i took to the steep slopes up to Bachd Mhic an Tosaich;

It's a steep climb up the Loony bin,up on a good windy path ,feeling a bit cream crackered already though,the views when i got to the top perked me up a bit though,couple of cairns mark the summit ,no sure which is highest so tapped them both,

After a quick spam piece it was off towards the 937 top and down the again good path to Meall Bhuide,a few wee ups n downs on the way again;

By the time i got to Meall Bhuide the idea of climbing Ladhar Bheinn was looking unlikely,i was knacked and it was a heart breaking loss of height from MB and then back up to the Mam Barisdale,still i would descend from the second Munro and see how i felt;

3 walkers i had spoke to on Meall B make thier way along the ridge;

Headed north from Meall Bhuide then swung east down steep grassy slopes avoiding all the rocky outcrops and crags and felt good at the bottom;

But by the time i had headed back up to the pass i had no more to give,legs were like lead,downed a bottle of lucozade which done no good so i could either have a kip in the sunshine at the top of the Mam Barisdale or kill myself trying to get up Ladhar Bheinn The snooze option won Still ,had been a magic day and it gives me a chance to climb Ladhar Bheinn another day ,probably from Inverie next time.Some ye win some ye lose A good nights kip again before heading back out on Sunday,planning a return already!

Might have to become un-pure again RH for my return for Ladhar Bhienn,unless i can swim from Mallaig to Inverie How far would that be

When up this way last week I almost made the decision to head to Barrisdale but the weather prevented it. Keeping these 3 for a sunny weekend, like I'm trying to do with all the remaining Munros.

Been looking at options for the return visit Tam,might do Ladhar Bheinn with Beinn Na Callich from Inverie just to mix it up a bit ken

It's not compulsory: there's a fair selection of accomodation in Inverie which is a good base for the hills.

Great trip report. Did them from Inverie last Saturday, cycled to head of loch an Dubh-Lochan then up a gully to Buidhe then round the ridge to Lunni bin!! Know how you felt, plum tuckered after the previous day on the Glen Finnan pair. It's nice to look back over your photo's. I'm finding the bike a real boon these days, wouldn't have made our return boat ride back to Mallaig without them!! 9 hours round trip.
