So the appointed day finally arrived, and it was dry and sunny! We were absolutely delighted that over 30 family and friends showed up to our last Corbett. We chose the slightly longer route from the Benrinnes distillery to avoid parking problems at the usual start point. There's a good track for the first half, then a reasonable path which disappears into peat hags for a bit where the ground levels out, before improving again towards the summit.
And what a fine summit too, with its granite tors and expansive views!
Here's me and Gillian enjoying a glass of bubbly on the top:
Then it was back down for an excellent celebration dinner at the Coylumbridge Hilton.
It hasn't exactly been a speedy round: my first Corbett was Ben Ledi, over 40 years ago. We had already done about 50 by the time we finished the Munros in 2002, and we did the next 120 or so in about 3 years. Then progress reduced to a trickle as the remaining hills got further away from home, and we very gradually got round to doing the rest, as we were determined to do good hills in decent weather as far as possible!
