Decided to bag a couple of Munro's with the fiancee today. her 1st venture up the mountains with me in over a year so i picked something a little less strenuous. I should add that my left kneecap's giving me a lot of grief so i factored in a quick day.

Drove car up through Glen Coe then headed onto the A828 and headed past the Ballachulish Hotel. A bit further up the road, we turned left, signposted for Glenachulish which took us up to a small car park in the forestry. From the car, headed South up a track, passed a small hydro building where the path then split. Pick which Munro you wish to bag. We opted for Sgorr Dhearg first so turned left and headed over a bridge.

Heading on up the path (good path all the way up!)

Unless you weigh 17T, you should get over fine

We kept on heading up the path where we crossed over a fire break. there is a sign to follow another path up through the forest. Eventually (felt like forever) we came out of the forest and started the, not too bad going, ascent for the bealach, again, a well trodden path was easy enough for us to follow.

We picked up an old rusy fence. Follow this all the way up. Easy navigation even if the mist came down.

When the fence ended, we headed up another few meters then had a look back down.

Looking up to 1st summit, Sgorr Dhearg

When on the bealach, we headed left (East) and followed the path up through the scree, all the way to the summit.

Some cracking views up here today.

Looking North over Ballachuilish and Loch Linnhe's Corran Narrows.

After enjoying the views and a bite to eat, headed back down to head up Sgorr Dhonuill.

I had to take a wee pic of the NE crest.

The "Thunderbolt" mountain, right enough.

After the pics, we reversed the route and return back to the car. Didn't take any more pics as my left knee was giving me jip...
