Week parked the van in a small pull in near Brownrigg farm about a mile east of Matterdale end grid ref yn407247.

There is room here for maybe three cars.
As you walk up the track you will see a National trust sign with Mell Fell marked on it with a path leading off to the right ignore this and continue up the track a little further you will see another path lead off to the right, take this path, From this point on its a clear path all the way up to the summit which is marked by a small pile of stones.,

Hot and sweaty another really hot day with little or no wind.
