Cycled in to Derry Lodge from the Linn of Dee. Derry Cairngorm 1155m (3789’), via Little Cairngorm, returning over the summit of Carn Crom, 890m (which is classed as a Corbett top). A pretty straightforward walk, although some care needs to be taken regarding the very steep ground to the east. There is a well-used path that leads to some very steep and loose ground above a nasty drop - best avoided, even if it does involve some extra ascent (better than extra, unplanned descent!).
Weather: Perfect, dry, sunny, light breeze, excellent visibility.
