Blimey ! What a walk. And what a way to spend an anniversary (19th)
18 years after being hailstoned off Marsco, we go to the summit of Bla Bheinn, with both offspring. How fantastic were they?
Very straightforward up to the coire for lunch, then missed the path off up to the ridge. Some creative routefinding to get back across to it, involved some gullies, 'dead ends' that weren't, and some scrambling which Jenny (and I) loved.
Once back on the main route, the push to the summit was OK. Views of the Ridge, despite grey conditions, were awesome. Plenty of time to get photos, and also to share some Grandad moments. A few tears.
The descent was long, and freaked Alison out a bit. Not quite cragfast, but not far off it at times. The kids practically skipped down. Too late to head for Sligachan, and I drove, so we stopped at Broadford for dinner instead. Ordered at 8:45 pm, delivered to the table about 9:15!
Kids were absolutely shattered, but amazing.
We all slept well.
Customary Guinness and malt chaser were enjoyed at The Sligachan Bar a couple of days later. It had to be done
