Another great sunny day and spot on for this remote Munro. We've walked the Linn of Quoich before and so Beinn a Bhuird was a good excuse for another trip to this pretty part of the world.

Near the now abandoned Queen Victoria's tearoom at the start of the walk

Water level was pretty low and so the punch bowl could clearly be seen

Not a difficult Munro at all (in spite of it being Britain's 11th highest).

Nice easy, clear track

Enjoyed crossing the river which was very low indeed

Found a way across Allt an Dubh Ghleann...with a little help!

Path really begins to gain height

Ben Avon with its distinctive tors. Can't wait to have a go at this one (may need the bikes tho')

Track was great all the way to the top, where we met a lovely couple at the summit cairn who'd bagged 216 Munros in 6 years with the aim of completing them all next year. Very inspirational.

...and another one

Views predictably fab from the summit and on our return we came across a Dad and daughter with a delightful dog named Dodger who was very keen for us to play ball with him.

Back in the Linn of Quoich and heading towards the point where the river meets the road at the bridge, Alice and David spotted a completely naked man wading in the shallow water. I was blundering on ahead blissfully unaware of the Full Monty taking place on the riverbank, being far too preoccupied with thoughts of whether to take my camera out of its rucksack to get one last picture of the river.

No naked men here

Thankfully I did no such thing. Would've been a tad awkward explaining the appearance of an unknown man's meat and veg on my Munro piccies to my Mum.

The last few steps to the carpark saw Alice and David giggling away like schoolkids as I pondered the lack of wildlife on this particular walk.

Munro 64 for David and Sarah and 43 for Alice.

looks like you's had a great day out. i bagged Ben Avon and it's 3 neighbours recently and can confirm you'd be better biking in as it's a hike in itself getting to Ben Avon.
