I left Arinabea mid morning in clear weather with a few clouds and ascended the clearing in the trees: it's best to keep as far as possible (faint track) to the firm ground immediately West of the burn. Above the trees and out of the gully, I climbed diagonally L, crossed the old fence and headed almost directly towards the summit - in some anticipation, as Donald McNeil had E-mailed me a couple of days before to tell me that the clean up operation was complete. What a transformation! There is a small area of scorched ground which hopefully will heal in due course, but otherwise it's pristine
I took a number of photographs and returned by the same route. I'll let the photos do the taliking

Well done Donald McNeil and the Forestry Commission for cleaning up the mess. And well done you for complaining.
