A Lochaber Wild camp –

A heavy head (self inflicted from the night before!!) had me dithering on whether to head out or not. I had planned a wild camp and bagging the two Innses and then a bike and hike was planned with my brother the following day. Surely I’d get my “fix” from the bike n hike…mmm

In the end I decided to head out and by two pm I was leaving Corriechoille and soon passing the Wee Minister – he was scary enough at this time of day!!!

I was thinking of heading up Cruach Innse and pitching the tent then heading out to Sgurr Innse before returning. However common sense eventually found its way through the cobwebs and I headed for the Bealach and dropped the pack and headed directly up Sgurr Innes. A cracking little peak with great views to Stob Ban and co  I was soon heading back to the bealach to pick up the camping gear…. The ascent up Cruach Innse was harder as expected with the weight of the camping gear – however no rush and no midgies to chase me up the hill – the joys of camping a little later in the year

I soon found the top just after Five and set about getting the camp set up before dark. The spot wasn’t too bad with fine views over Glen Spean and across to the Grey Corries.

No sunset though as a shower headed in just as the sun was setting and also as I was having me tea! Tea in Tent  However there is something therapeutic about the sound of rain on the tent (when dry and inside!!). Good news was that the rain eventually went off and I ventured outside into the dark…. To my surprise there was a large moon and lots of stars-Not too sure how to take night time shots so I then spent lots of time experimenting with the camera – some of the results below…….

After a reasonable nights sleep I woke to a benign morning. As always the coffee tasted sooo good on the summit. After my caffeine boost- I headed down to the car and off to meet my brother in Perthshire for our next day of fun 

Thanks Scoob - I love the wild camping, in act its probably my favourite outdoors past time. it can be a bit of a pain lugging the equipment up but usually its worth it :D

Would thoroughly recommend it tho

Thank you - had more darkness to play around in - another advantage of camping at this time of year (as well as less midg :))
