Grahams: Biod an Fhithich.
Date: 18/10/2014.
Distance: 6.5km.
Ascent: 625m.
Time taken: 2 hours, 15 minutes.
Weather: Sunshine and showers. Windy.

After last night's nocturnal wanderings, I was looking for a shorter walk today. Biod an Fhithich was definitely on the cards. I could have used my starting location in Glenelg to go up one of the lower Marilyns there first, but I decided they would keep for another time. I parked up in Glen Shiel just as a heavy shower came on. Feeling lazy, I almost drove off rather than get wet again, but I'm glad I pushed myself out of the car. It was pretty warm despite the rain. Driving up the road from Perth on Tuesday evening, the temperature had been down at 3 degrees coming over the Slochd. I doubt it was anywhere near that low on this trip - even on top of Beinn Sgritheall in the middle of the night.

Despite the A' Mhuing ridge from Shiel Bridge looking interesting, I settled for the more straightforward stalkers path up towards the Forcan Ridge. Easy and short, but plenty of good views.

From the bealach, a faint path led up to the summit of Biod an Fhithich. Out of the wind for a break, I couldn't help think that this would be a great introductory hill - good path, not too much ascent, great views.

Back down by the same route, with no desire to carry on up the Saddle in the wind. Then back home in time for lunch.

A great wee walk and is on my list too for the winter. Great colours in Glen Shiel just now.
