Saturday morning up bright and early headed down to the south west for some sub 2 k bagging, stranraer first then working my way back up to ayrshire. weather was good dry and light winds.
Cairn pat 30 minutes
1st hill of the day parked off A77 at NX 046 552 crossed road and onto the track followed all the way to trig summit point with masts retuned same route.
Knockdonian 40 minutes
2nd hill today parked in muddy laybye on B7044 at NX 120 848 a sign pointed to a gate, went through it and into a field headed uphill till 2nd gate went through it and headed up the ridge to the trig summit, returned same route.our_route.gpx[/attachment]
Grey hill 50 minutes
3rd hill parked at bend on road at knocklaugh at NX 171 919 next to burn, went over a fence at right hand side of gorge till reached open hillside then up through wet ground to the trig summit returned same route.
Craigenreoch 1 hour 15 minutes
4th hill parked at the nick of the balloch at NX348 923 in a laybye on the high point of the road ,cloud was rolling in but still dry,headed up the steep terrain towards rowantree hill and followed the ridge line round to the trig summit point, returned same route.
Benbeoch 1 hour 15 minutes
5th hill parked at open cast mine entrance now shut down opposite clawfin, went over a fence onto a track through the mine buildings for about 1km then struck uphill to the summit cairn, returned same route.

Good wee road trip, still got a few of theses to do. Benbeochs interesting as half of its away

Benbeoch isn't the same now. Think everyone should have to throw themselves into the ditch to hide from the security guards,.
We actually devoted a New Year's day to it on the assumption that it was the only day they wouldn't be digging.

Looks like Benbeoch is one i should do soonish before it disappears completely

They've stopped digging it away now. Any signs of restoration?
