Started from the Bennachie visitor centre and followed the path to Mither Tap. We then took the left path to Bennachie and from there a path leads down and into Bennachie Forest, where we crossed the track and followed another path to the summit of Millstone Hill. From here we took the path to the south and i just followed the P signs and we ended up at Donview car park, not where we wanted to be. So a quick check of the map we returned to the third track which led us back to Bennachie. Superb were maintained paths here and well worth the 2 quid parking fee for the National Trust.

Millstone is one of our favourite hills. Seem to have been up there every year for the last ten years.

You’ve been getting lots of walks in lately 8) . This looks like a good one! Typical moody autumn weather but very atmospherical. I like it! :D

Thanks, we were based at Banchory so made good use of the weather. All the walking was enjoyable although this one was our favourite, even though it was the only day we got rain. :D

Like this area a lot so thanks for the photos - gradually getting to know it on dog walks with my daughter who lives just down the road. Not bad to have these on the doorstep

Right on my doorstep Johnny, think Bennachie was the first hill of any note i went up. Theres a nice low level route called the Gordon Way which starts/ends in the Car park at Bennachie, did it last Autunm and enjoyed it.
Cheers

Cheers and thanks for the info on the Gordon Way as we will be returning to this area in the future to walk the other Marilyns we have left and to do some other stuff, castles and low level walks. :D
