Sub 2000' hills included on this walk: Bennan, Bishop Forest Hill, Hightown Hill, Killyleoch Hill , See Morris Hill, Woodhead Hill

Distance: 15 km

Ascent: 875m

Headed down to dumfries for a 8 am start, weather looked promising dry but it only lasted a couple of hours it was drizzly rain for the rest of the day.

First up was hightown hill parked at the farm NY 030836 followed track up open hillside then trig, returned same way, 30 minutes.

Next was woodhead hill parked on the A711 in a lay by NX 917717 took track to farm then took left track for 400m then followed a wall up through trees then mtb tracks to summit hard going returned same way, 1 hour.

See morris hill parked at a locked barrier near riddingshill farm NX 907777 took tarmac road up to masts then on to trig returned same way, 30 minutes.

Bennan parked on minor road at NX 829763 next to a small wood went up the south side of the wood crossed a fence then over rough ground to the top returned same route, 45 minutes.

Bishop forest hill parked at marglolly bridge at NX 838800 followed atv tracks uphill and over boggy ground to the summit cairn, returned same route 45 minutes.

Killyleoch hill parked near killyleoch farm at NX 86485 82942 crossed wall into a field then through 3 more fields then open hillside to the the top,small cairn, returned same route ,1 hour.

Can't believe Woodhead Hill. Do you send in the axemen before you go.? Mind you, finding the top was probably harder for you than for us.
