The day before I had arrived at Corrour station and did Benn Na Lap (see http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=47703). Today the weather was a lot more favourable, I could actually see the hills and stand up! A small group of us started off from the YHA on the edge of Loch Ossian.

The route was quite straight forward. We walked along the southern banks of the Loch which was a good track to take you to the farms on the eastern shore.

After about 5km we came to end of the track and took a right through a farm yard past a white-washed farmhouse. The farmers were jumping in their jeep to go stalking. We asked if we were ok, just to be on the safe side.

We headed up a track at the other end of the farmyard. there was a lot of track building going on building a new dam or hydro scheme.

We made use of this new mini dam that had just been built to cross over the river and head SE up the broad shoulder of Meall Nathrach Mor.

By the time we got to the top of Sgor Choinnich the cloud had come in and had a bit to eat.

We headed due south for an easy walk across moorland to the first Munro Sgor Gaibhre. The walk was easy going headed down to the bealach Mam Ban. We got intermittent views of Loch and surround hills.

After reaching Carn Dearg we headed NW down the shoulder and back towards Peter's Rock to follow the new track back to the YHA.

All-in-all this is a relatively easy circuit of hills as you start from around 400m already, so there isn't much climbing to do.

Back to YHA

However it was very enjoyable and great to return back to the cozy YHA for a nights drinking *cough* entertainment!
The next day I spent enjoying the lovely conditions on the loch taking photos....

I'd highly recommend staying at this place. If you get the weather it truly is a wonderful spot!

Been meaning to do exactly what you did but haven't yet got round to it yet - so this is a good incentive. Thanks! :D
