Planned on doing the Balmoral Cairns but the road into and out of Balmoral was closed for bridge repairs. The detour involved driving onto Ballatar which we did and finding the Seven Bridges walk stored on the GPS we opted to stay in Ballatar and do this walk instead.

Glad that we did as this was a pleasant and undemanding walk spot on for a rainy Autumnal day. The start of the walk took us past some stunning properties and then onto the very pretty "railtrack" which was lined with gold and bronze beech trees. Would've made for some pretty piccies if the sun was out.

The first and last photo of the day because it poured down afterwards

Very easy to follow route; the very shaky white bridge had the dog a-quivering but that was it for high drama. Did the castle detour but on the approach noticed that it was covered in scaffolding so didn't bother going on for a close up.
By now it was pouring and so we made our soggy way back to Ballater having counted only six bridges.

Got my full 20ps worth in the town centre loos by washing my muddy boots in the sink. I did leave the sink nice though, so no-one was any the wiser.
