Second week in our van 'Hamish' meant we were off cycling along the good landrover track to Loch Callater at 6.30am  Left the bikes at the Loch and headed up CatSM, on to CaCB, chuffed with our progress and on to Lochnagar just after 10am :o :D

From there we had to decide between going for the Corbett or heading round to Broad Cairn instead - today's planned route (redemption for Scoob's 'Basil Faulty' walk!) was for up to 8 Munros plus Corbett: Lochnagar 5 with Conachcraig, Tolmount and Tom Buidhe, then picking up Carn an Tuirc on the way back to the bikes at Loch Callater!

A chilly but bright and clear day, so we went for the Corbett to make for a good ScoobTube video 8) On the summit of Conachcraig for noon, we figured we were on a roll and would at least get the 5 Munro round  However the cross-country boggy ground meant by the time we reached Dubh Loch it was a fairly easy decision to not even try to cross the full river to climb Broad Cairn. Instead we followed the path along the length of the loch, checked out the impressive waterfall coming off Eagle Rock, and carried on to pick up the path we'd started on around the side of Carn an t-Sagairt Mor in the last of the remaining light. Headtorches on for the path back to bikes and for the cycle out. Tough day for a Sunday but a good one, and we're now looking at routes for picking up the other Munros from Glen Doll instead :D
Scoob's video
