Distance: 8 km

Ascent: 610m

The initial ascent from the foot of the dam at the east end of Loch an Daimh to the ridge is a very steep slog but after that this is a great walk with fantastic views. I returned via the same route but passed a few people who told me I should have carried on over the summit to the west end of the Loch and returned along the shore to avoid the steep descent.

I did this hill one morning in july having camped over night & on the way down we took a line to the loch after we had pased the lochan to avoid the step decent you encounter on the way up. However the way back along the shore is realy boldery & unpleasent to walk on even in the sturdiest of boots so in my opinion you went the best way. Looks like you had a good day weatherwise.
