Day 1 of a 2 day trip to Kintail. Drove up with my son Andrew and stayed at Invergarry Hotel which is quiet but very nice. Next day drove about 30 mins to the far end of Loch Clunie and parked the car at the Clunie Inn. Unhitched the bikes and cycled around 5 miles down the A87 on road to Skye where we dumped the bikes up a track. Then took a rough path up the steep hillside to the ridge. Travelled east along the ridge and did the 3 Munros Saileag, Sgurr a' Bhealaich Dheirg and Aonach Meadhoin, known as the Brothers ridge. Little wind but quite cloudy. Sgurr a' Bhealaich has a massive cairn perched at the end of a slender arete, where we met 2 young ladies. Having climbed the 3 Munros we continued on to Sgurr an Fhuarail (not a Munro). The quickest way back is south-east ridge which I think the young ladies did, but Andrew and I decided to take in another Munro Ciste Dhubh which lies to the north and involves a 400m descent and re-ascent to the summit, then back to the car via a boggy path by the An Caorann Beag. 6 hrs 45 mins including 25 mins cycle.
