Aye, Ben More
With the forecast looking spectacular it was time to test out the new Asolo Sherpas, test the knee and get some needed outdoor time...with a good lashing of physical exertion. Ben More, with its relentless ascent, fitted the bill.
Left Glasgow early and was walking for 9am. I was buzzing with anticipation at the challenge ahead. The approach to Ben More is basically staight up from the starting point, it really challenges you!

Around 700M it was time for some crampon/ice axe action
The pull up, as mentioned, can be tough but I was just loving be out and thinking about nothing else other than my surroundings.
After some time the summit was in site...the views looked great in every direction, with Stob Binnien looking very impressive dressed over with some lite mist. I played around at the summit for an hour and had a bite to eat. The sun was beating off my face and the huge grin was ever present. The joys
On the descent my crampon bolt came loose. Whilst trying to fix it another solo walker passed without crampons on. I took mines off and we walked out together, we did fall on our backsides a few times but it was good fun. Was very nice to meet you, enjoyed the "mountain" chats.
The boots felt fantastic, the knee slightly sore. I think a few more short winter walks are on the cards soon...
