Trying to grab bursts of better weather in between the windy days - so this was another short foray, and even with an early(ish) start, the clouds obviously hadn't heard the same forecast! (Sunshine about, but I'll need to go back to get the views.)
I parked at Hillside of Prieston, plenty of space although I suspect this walk gets very busy at weekends and in better weather. The gate is a little daunting - I have not seem so many padlocks (not counting the increasing number of hearts/padlocks fastened to famous landmarks these days).

Just climbed over the wooden fence to the right hand side of the gate.

Past former army buildings towards the hill

The track curves gently round to the north side of the hill and makes for a very easy ascent to the forest of aerials and radio masts and on to the trig point.

I took a much more direct line off the hill, rejoined the track and so back to the car.
