With MWIS giving a favourable weather report (which proved to be totally wrong!! ) we headed for Auchlean near Kingussie to have a go at Sgor Gaoith. The cloud was hanging low in Glen Feshie as we set off; never a sign of good times ahead

A good 3 mile walk along the river has you warmed up nicely for the long climb up to the crossroads above Coire Garbhlach.

With not a great deal to see, we headed straight for Mullach Clach a' Bhlair, which was easily located even with the cloud covering everything!!

We had intended to go to Meall Dubhag on the way to Sgor Gaoith, but as we couldn't see it, decided to just head to Carn Ban Mor on the way.

Good time was made up across the track on the Moine Mhor, as Sgor Gaoith came into view.

We were hoping for good views of Cairn Toul and co from up here, but were to be left disappointed. With frozen ground underfoot, we soon topped Sgor Gaoith, were a ferocious wind met us. It was difficult keeping steady and peering over the edge to see Loch Einich was only a quick look

After nipping over to Sgoran Dubh Mor, we took the overland route straight off for the long walk back to the car, which was reached in pitch darkness!!

That looks a bit grim. Or stimulating! Certainly a lot different to when I was there on a relatively balmy August day.

Looks a lot nicer up there in the sun

The photo of Loch Einich is great. Very dark and eerie.

Would have preferred the balmy day, that's for sure. Stimulated us to get round them quickly haha

Hey RicK, we were hoping for some sun, but never showed
