More of a need to get out for some badly needed exercise, and indulge in some ski touring
than a full blown walk, although I had intended to go further if the mood took me and the weather and conditions were agreeable.
Parked the car on the east side of the road just past the ski centre on the Braemar side, got my kit on and onto the snow.
Bit of a slog on the way up, snow wasn't really that grippy for the skins on the steep parts, but it was consolidated.
Took the skis off and walked the last hundred or so metres.
Left the skis and sticks at the snow fence at the top of the ski tow and walked the remaining few metres to the cairn at the summit.
To be honest the snow cover was patchy, even though the A93 had been closed several times during the week it must have been because of drifting snow. The snow that had blown off the mountains

Not sure what happened to the GPS, I certainly didn't go straight down
although the decent was considerably quicker than the assent
Snow wasn't great for skiing on, though suspect a day or two earlier and it would have been nice fluffy powder, sais la vie.
